Our adventure starts at 8:00 a.m., driving our 4x4 vehicle to the botanical garden with an area of 3200 hectares and divided in 3 large components or sectors:
Experimental plantations, the arboretum or plant collection and the biological reserve with an area of approximately 1200 hectares of which around 80% is a primary rain forest housing a great variety of plants and animals, such as cappuccino monkeys, ocelots, reptiles and more than 365 bird species, toucans, woodpeckers, parrots and tangaras, among many other species.
Our program is a gentle journey or hike of up to 5 hours through the arboretum and the biological reserve. We will return to Tela at around 2:45 p.m., arriving there close to 3:00 p.m.
Level of Difficulty: This will depend on the interest and physical fitness of each person. The tour can be adjusted to any condition, so it is feasible for every type of people.
Recommendations: Bring with you cool clothing for forest walking, preferably long pants and T-shirts, sun blocker, repellent, hat, hiking shoes or sneakers with good traction, camera or binoculars.
A group of 6 people is required for this tour.
